Is this blade finish fixable without removing the handle?

I ruined the factory perfect grind near the handle with a waterstone, and was wondering if this is fixable? Its minor but really messing with my ocd. Also, if I send this to Bark River for spa treatment, would they be able to factory finish this so it looks like the grind was never touched by me? If they can fix this, do they take the handles off? whats the process? Thanks in advance. The blade steel is cpm3v.

Pics would help here but ask the folks at Bark River this question. Odds are high they will take care of you.

I can't see the picture but if you're talking about a Bark River knife you can definitely send it in to get worked on.

If the handles are pinned on they won't take them off. The pins are only part of what holds the scales on, an adhesive does most of the work. Therefore, when taking off scales they pretty much need to be destroyed in the process.

Yea I got you, I emailed them and my feeling is that I will need to get it rehandled if I wish to fix the cosmetic damage near the handle to look factory fresh. Now I need to decide whether I want to send it in and pay for a rehandling, or sell it on ebay or possibly trade it. Thanks for the response. Again, this is a big deal to me, because it is sorta my safe queen, I use my mora mostly. I bought this one because of lust lol.

Or, now hear me out... Use it. Find out Why it costs mora than the Mora. You spent the coin already, no point in losing More money on a sale just to spend the same amount again. Why add salt to the wound?

Save up, buy another down the road and use the hell out of this one. Who knows, you may even end up liking the mora more if this doesn't perform as you had thought it would.

Education and knowledge > pretty things
At least that is why I am into knives. I love to see how different models and shapes perform, and which work best and compliment the way I handle a knife.
Just my humble opinion.

I appreciate that input. Its one of the internal arguments Im having with myself right now in my head. You make a good point, I can always send it in later down the road to make it pretty again anytime. I guess Ill just use the hell out of it. Thanks again, sometimes I pathetically need that outsode opinion to convince me to do the practical thing.
