Is this bone or wood?

Received this a number of years ago and really can't remember if I ever knew what the handle was made of. I have 4 mini trappers and all of them are very nice knives. All have a nice medium pull and strong snap. If I were to open and close them blindfolded I don't think I could tell them
apart

I'm guessing wood because the knife looks like it has bounced around in a pocket for awhile. I can't help thinking that if it were bone, the bone would have a more glossy appearance from pocket carry.

Look like bone to me! Get a real sharp edge; lay it on the knife like you are going to cut it in half!! slide it sideways with no extra pressure; if it "skates" it's bone, if it drags or sticks, it's wood!!:D

Looks like smooth bone.

Take a look at the pattern# stamp on the blade. If the pattern number begins with a '6', it implies bone (in either smooth or jigged) and any other jigged material (includes jigged synthetic like Delrin, or so-called 'Staminawood' stabilized laminate, which is jigged).

Solid hardwood handles (unjigged) begin with a '1' in the pattern number.

Looks like Case's Smooth Chestnut Bone to me. I have a Trapperlock in that handle material, and it looks just like that.
Exactly what I was thinking.
I had a Case in smooth chesnut bone and liked how it kind of resembled wood.

It's wood I'm thinking.. And wood and bone each have they're own distinctive feel, so I believe it will become clear sooner than later.
