Is this Buck Vantage Select Small linerlock OK?

I have the larger Buck Vantage Force that I really like, but I wanted a smaller version of the knife for EDC. Just got the Buck Vantage Select Small in. I like it, but the linerlock does not always engage with one handed open using my thumb. And when it does engage, regardless of how I open it, only about 2/3 of the liner lock edge catches against the back stop (or whatever you call it) for the blade:

Is the fact that it's not catching easy with one handed opening liable to improve through a little use? It also seems like to me it should catch a little more fully. Or with this particular design is it pretty solid without having to worry about the lock slipping once fully open and caught like this?

I got it off Ebay from a knife vendor, so I do need to decide pretty quickly if I'm going to return it. On the other hand, it's a $20 knife and I don't really want to pay $5 or $6 to ship it back if this issue is liable to work itself out.

Thanks for any help.

If it's solid, let it wear in. They used to have a problem with the liner contacting the other side. It's nice to see one with early lock up.

Thanks!

It's definitely feels solid when it's locked.

However, there's still the problem with using the thumb hole. The linerlock just does not want to catch; I have to manual shift the blade that extra fraction of an inch open by grabbing it. Now I can flick it open with with the thump stud roller on the back, and the liner lock catches. I'm guessing if it wears a little, it would probably then catch better when using the thumb hole. Is that likely?
