Howdy,

I got this filet knife in a clamshell pack with other fishing accessories as a gift back in 2009. I don't fish much anymore, so this has floated around a duffle bag in my trunk for over a decade. I rediscovered it and have used it in the kitchen some.

The blade is stamped with "Rapala Stainless Sweden."

Its handle bears a striking resemblance to a Mora 510.

(Pic shamelessly downloaded from FortyTwoBlades FortyTwoBlades website, I highly recommend)

Google searches have turned up no info or pics of this knife, so either it's an anomaly or my research skills are lacking. Does anyone know if the filet knife was made by Morakniv or otherwise?

To me it looks like a Delux Falcon sold to Rapala by Normark. The fish design on the handle and the lanyard hole.

But these were likely made for Normark by someone else. Morakniv also uses this handle design (but without the fish logo).

Morakniv. But without the lanyard hole.

It looks like there's several offerings with one or more similar characteristics. Some sources say they were by Normark, or by Normark for Promar, or Normark for Rapala, or Eriksson of Mora for Rapala, or...

Using the info shared here, I also found this old thread: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/normark-knives.149244/

I think it's safe to say there's a significant chance my knife was made by Mora (or a predecessor), or Normark, in Sweden. I can live with that. It works well for its intended use.

Thanks, all, for the helpful information!!
