Well, after over a week of waiting, got a box this morning. been sort of sitting quietly reading the threads here until I had something to say, so here it is. I bought a knife less than a year ago that made since to me then, but it sure didn't hold up under the pressures of what I needed, but I was able to get three of the thirteen buck I payed for it back yesterday in a yard sale so it wasn't all a loss:thumbup:.
At any rate, after using that one to baton with, I broke the blade collar on it and decided I needed something with a full tang to it,and a little less Rambo like and a whole lot more like get out of the way I'm going to cut that. so I got to looking around and decided on only one knife that fit the bill (sorry no pics just yet I need to reload my software for my handy cam going to do that, here in a few then I'll put some up). But many of you have seen these, anyhow I went for the BK9.
First off this is going to be my main blade for backpacking (and yes I said backpacking). I do not find its weight to be over bearing at all. compared to the cheap Chinese wanna be I just sold for $3.00, this Becker is light and I'm not a big fellow by any means. every thing that I've read or seen about this seems to be all wrong I can't seem to find anything to complain about. there has had to have been some small changes to the sheath since the Camillus days.
I'm not a knife pro or a collector either one but if this is any indication as to what Becker blades are like I'll be getting a couple more. other than the bad press this thing got after hacking away 185 times on a landscaping stepping stone before it broke, that's the only thing I read that was bad about this knife my question is who in the h$@? uses a knife to do masonry work with anyhow?
Sorry for the long winded post I have got to go wipe the tears of joy from my eyes now take some pictures of this knife then go chop something up:D

Hi all thanks for the replies first off its a privilege to hear from the guy that actually designed this blade and I want to be personal with you you Mr.Becker I would not think of doing any mods to this knife(though I prefer to call it an awesome work of art!!!)you nailed this one home first off guys I used this thing the very day it came on milled ash I had laying around (I use this for building electric guitars)and the BK9 went through it like butter along with some cherry out of my stash for car camping though I've not been doing much of that here lately.
At any rate the cherry was not well aged at all in fact it was rather fresh but still no problem for the BK9 still no pics up yet will get those up as soon as I can if anyone can help me out here I was wandering how to go about that most forums I've been a member of seem to want people to go with photo bucket i really don't like that as I've not got an account on there is there a way to copy and paste pictures on this forum?
Anyhow this blade did just what I knew it would and has held its edge rather well, the smaller pocket on the sheath is large enough to hold a fishing/survival kit that I put together as well as a large fire steel and some tinder so this is not only the knife Mr.Becker built as combat bowie its also a suitable survival knife.
And as if that were not bad enough (in a good way)I've already got my eye on two other Becker blades
