Is this handle shape unusual? Can you help me ID this Randall?

This ended up in my collection but I dont know much about it. The back of the sheith says "7" on it so i assume it might be a model 7. But the handle looks to be micarta and has a curved swell in it which i dont see in any pictures. Anyone know anything about it?

Thank you guys. When i inventoried the collection all the others were finger groves or the traditional "modle 1" shape. This was the only one that had this shape and it really caught my eye. In person it is a bit more green/brown than the picture looks. Really love it.

Nice one, that's an unusual color of Micarta that you don't see often. Here is a selection of handle styles. I have always liked the BP style. Enjoy! :)

I looked at the color more closely today and desided its not as green as i thought. Maybe it is just a normal color as pictured.

Do you guys know if the border partol handle is always a full length and full thickness tang? This one is full tang.

I have another 7" modle 1 with the standard handel withouththe full tang. It is noticeably lighter overall but i almost like the balance better on the full tang.

Both knives are brand new to me so i am still learning about these. Actually between my wife and I we ended up with four Randalls. I will post a group photo after we travel home. I will be interested in learning a little more about them. These are our first Randalls, not a bad way to start off our "Randall coloection".

Edit: looking through some old posts i think this might be a model 16. It has a very heavy full tang. Does that make sense?

I agree it is a model 16-sp1. The 16 is a dive knife 16-sp1 is the dive knife with a model 1 blade and guard.

Randall calls this the border patrol handle, it can be ordered on many of their models including the model 1, 14, 16, etc.
