Been getting a pop-up warning me to download a privacy protection . It appears to be from Internet Express but it only shows the logo on the upper left by the heading.

There's so much garbage floating around that I'm not willing to blindly install it.

Any of you sharp ones use this ?

A dumb operator needs to know.

Uncle  Alan

Pop ups are tools of the devil.

Don't trust them.

ditto!!
Don't do any of the things advised by pop ups.

There is a special place in hell for spammers and pop up makers.

More seriously though : the google tool bar is a good way to prevent pop ups to ... well, pop up...
Or you could switch from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox for free and start to enjoy a ad-free internet!!!

Alan , nothing wrong with pop up stoppers , Windows already has one built in but , you have something bad in your computer that is causing that one to happen on it's own. Usually a spyware, ad , maybe even a trojan.

Do this , it's easy and it works (most of the time ;) )

Go here

http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/

Allow it to install the activex control and download the database updates.

Once that is done you'll see all of your drives in the window. Click on "start scan" let it run , when it's done click on "remove infections" , and hopefully you're done , then save this page in your favorites and run it once a week.

Trust me , this works , it is free and one of the few free trusted tools on the web that does not load some jackware or something.

Good luck.

Or just use Mozilla Firefox as your browser... built in popup blocker along with other goodies.
