Is this is normal?

Wife bought me this 2005 Commander for our anniversary a few years ago, and it has been my EDC ever since. Lately I've noticed that the lock bar is moving further to the inside of the blade. Is this normal? If not, how do I fix it?

Love this knife, but don't want to ruin it.

I almost always wave it open, but not so hard that it slams open.

It looks pretty worn but still in good working order. If it moves any further, send it back to Emerson and he'll fix it.

That is normal for all liner locks and frame locks. There is a difference in hardness between the titanium and the blade and this causes the softer lock bar to wear down over time.

Glad to see one that looks like mine. Mine is still solid though, as long as this is the case I will be happy.

Yes this is normal, as others said if it gets all the way over you can send it back to Emerson for repair.

Like everyone else said, it's normal, but if it gets worse send her off, the emerson crew will fix her right up for you, they are some of the nicest people I've dealt with in the knife industry, you have nothing to worry about. I suggest you carry it until it moves all the way over, then when it can't move over anymore it's time to send her off.
