Is this knife a clone of the Kershaw Leek?

As you can see, it's seen better days, and I'm preparing to send it in for repair. But before I do, I had a nagging thought: is this knife the real deal? I'm no expert by any means, but I understand that 440 Stainless isn't exactly considered a "quality" steel? And the "ROC" marking also raises questions. There are no other markings on the knife that indicate anything, much less that it's made by Kershaw. I can't tell you the origin of the knife as I found it in a field in the middle of Ft. Hood. Any of the experts like to chime in?

Yes, it is a knockoff leek.
Possibly made of 440 stainless and undoubtedly marked R.O.C (Republic of China).
I wouldn't send it to Kershaw. It's not theirs, they won't warranty it and they would be fully within their rights to destroy it.

Well I am disappointed, but not quite surprised. The silver lining is this has inspired me to buy a real deal now. Even for a knock-off, it's been a great EDC.

I wouldn't call it a let down then. If you enjoyed this one, just think how much you'll like a real Leek.

The only let down being I can't send it in to get fixed. I might just get some brass stock and make a pin to stop the rear movement of the blade and keep it around regardless. Still going to pick up a real Leek soon.
