I just bought this knife a week ago and I've been wondering if the knife is from Lord of The Rings.

The reason why I think it's from Lord of The Rings is because of the writing on the handle:

If anyone can tell me that will help.

It does not look like the one the elf dude used.

I am wondering what that sniper rifle looking thing is in the background. Halo?

No, it's not. Oh yeah, and if that isn't a custom knife, I hope you didn't pay more than 5 bucks for it.:barf: I have a feeling you might have a bunch of jokes coming your way. Just letting you know.

It might be a LOTR inspired blade but just looks like another fantasy blade to me.

Oh thanks. Crap. I paid 20 bucks for that thing. Lol. Oh well. It's only twenty bucks. I'll get that back easily. And no eyeeatingfish the sniper is a project I'm working on. I'm almost finished making it. I just need to straighten out the barrel. I combined a NERF maverick and a NERF CS-6. Also used some PVC and ABS for a few things. Okay. Back to the subject.

Maybe it's like the knife the character Aragorn used? Looks sorta like his "side-arm". I *just* watched the first and second movies in the trilogy this past week and your knife looks similar to his iirc.

It's not an officially licensed LOTR weapon that i've seen. My guess is it's a kukri someone embellished.

Aragorn's knife was a bit shorter, maybe 7-8 inches.

Ahh - it looked longer to me. I was thinking of the scene when he was in Rohan and the 'princess' was practicing w/her sword and Aragorn crossed blades with her, but i didn't study it.

Cool looking knife all the same (and i'm not much a fan of kuk's).

I was thinking about the scene where Galadriel's bodyguard gives him the knife in the Elf forest. It wasn't quite that long, probably closer to 10 inches though.

I'm pretty sure that was forged in Mordor and smuggled out by an elfin radical.

Regardless of origin, if someone isn't a Tolkien troll (superfan) they'll most likely believe you if you say it's from the movies. If they are, they won't believe it, especially if a knife freak. That's not dependent on origin. I can say with complete confidence they didn't release an authorized knife like that from LOTR; and it doesn't appear as any of the blades. Besides the make, etc, none had actual writing etched on the blades unless it was "magical" writing that appeared for various reasons (like frodo's sting, when orcs were near, glowed). So, no blade would have black writing on it. Further, the black writing would be the same language as the writing on a handle if it WAS writing- and not only is it NOT the same, but not recognizable as a Tolkien language.

It's a generic fantasy piece. Looks like it took some elements from the LOTR replicas and various Kit Rae pieces. A non-functional display piece, just like the real LOTR replicas, so they got that detail accurately enough! :p

I hate to disappoint anyone, but that Elvish writing says 'Made in China'. :p

I called a couple of Orcs who are living at a Florida retirement condo, and they were pretty sure that your blade was not hammer-forged at the base of Mount Doom by Goblin-Orc hybrids before the final assault on Middle Earth.

I was pretty sure of that already.

I never saw any Khukuris in the LOTR, and I'm a biiiiiig fan. Aragorn's backup was curved the other way, I'm sure there's a name for it, but I don't know it. This is a nice looking blade, would make for a good wall hanger.
