Is this knife worth $176.00 ?

The $176.00 posted on that link is the SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE.

Are you are asking should you pay that much for the knife? No.

I'm sure a quick search of online vendors like www.1sks.com, will give you a much more realistic idea of what that particular knife actually sells for. (Follow the above link to that knife and you will be pleasantly surprised I'm sure ;) )

If you are asking whether that is a fair "suggested retail price" for Buck to ask, I really can't say. Seems like a reasonable price point for that knife.

Like said above it can be found cheaper online, try bestknives.com
Also thats a great knife, similer to the Knives the RCMP ERT teams are issued, great knife.

Damn  ! that knife is $123.99 at www.1sks.com

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it. See, if I ordered directly from the manufacturer, I would yet again be ripped off.

Know of any good Canadian places where I could get this knife from? I checked LeBaron, and they have it for some 170+ dollars, that's a bit too much, I think.

There is a thread in this forum that has MANY net dealers who can give you better prices than the MSRP you've been seeing(paying).
Good Luck!

Caveat emptor.

I noticed that, but was too lazy to do the research, and I wanted quick answers for this particular knife, just to see if it's good and worth buying for that much money.

best place to get it would be discountknives.com or knifecenter.com or knifeoutlet.com you can find most knives about about 30-50% off msrp

Kit is a seriously great knife designer/maker.

You really ought to check out some of his collaberations. His M-18 model is a collab he did with CRK&T and it is just flat out a kick-butt folder. It's very high on my fanvorites list. He also did the M-16 series with them too. Outstanding knives for not a lotta money.

You should check out some of those sites. It's amazing the deals you can find.;)

Good Luck!

I'd think the 170 MSRP at Buck's site was USD and the price from Lebaron is 170+ CDN dollars.
Just want to clarify that...
176.63CDN/1.6 (rough estimate of exchange) = 110.39USD
I've bought from Lebaron before and they do have some decent prices.... Seems like after S/H and GST you should be clear just at $200CDN.
You can try and order from sites from the states but you'll end up paying some hefty shipping to Canada.
Not that I'm dissing the companies, but 1sks ships for $18USD and dirtcheapknives ships for $25USD. And then probably duty on top of that.
Keep your eyes open for good deals in Canadian companies first because of those pesky duty fees and shipping rates.

fandorin: the knife that he wants is the Intrepid II, which is slightly different (has Tanto point instead of the Ebay photo)
Mr. Carson: I should've recognize that it was your design... gosh I swear one day I'll get you to make me a gent's folder!

The store in Canada has already added in the 40% duty (last time I heard) and the VAT that you will have to add if you order it from the US.as well as the shipping. Better add that into your thinking.

all the best,

A. G.

Yeah, I think if I do decide to get this knife, I wont order from US. It would definitelly cost more. The good thing is there is a LeBaron store about 10-15 minutes of drive away from me.

I wish we had Cabelas in Canada, that place is amazing, you guys are lucky.

GET THIS!! I just heard that store SR KNIVES sells this same knife for 319 DOLLARS!!!!

what a bloody ripoff.
