Is this knife worth it?

I really trust this boards opinion even tho I am a noob to posting Ive been a reader for a while, so I have the opportunity to buy a Buck Alpha Hunter 193 brand new never used for 70 bucks. Since I am a hunter I am hoping to use it for gutting and skinning and not much else. Buck's website has it listed at $156 but I know that the manufactuer always bumps the price to make it seem amazing and Buck's reputation among some (not all) explains a hefty price tag. I also notice this forum is fairly anti-Buck but I am hoping that this knife IS worth it because, ill be honest the dam thing is beautiful. Can anyone give me insight on how the knife performs, holds up, and whether or not its the steal I am hoping it is and not just a useless piece of eye candy. Thanks

Yep, 70 is on the low average price for this knife ! You may get one cheaper here on the exchange if you post a want to buy thread though ...
 
Who is anti Buck? They make a damn fine product, and a customer service to match.

I think you could find a better deal than that. Look on all the major knife websites, OTHER than Ebay.
 
I guess by anti-buck I mean more of their newer mass market products. I have a few older ones from my dad that are still in top shape, then I have some newer made in china versions that cant hold an edge for anything. I know they make a good product, but they also make some crap as well. Id take a 110 anyday of the week, but their gentlemens folders have gone to hell and by hell i mean wlamart
 
I've been finding that Buck can really be hit or miss. Sometimes you get one hell of a knife for a great price, then the next time, you end up with a lemon. I realize this can happen with any company, but IMO it seems to be more prevalent with Buck.
 
If this knife is to be a heavy use knife, you will have to wear gloves or risk hand injury with that exposed tang. IMO, not worth the price because I think it is a bad design.
