Is this normal #2

Edit: Added video to post #5.

I received a DLT exclusive 110 on Monday. When I grip the handle and then release pressure, it makes a clicking sound... noticeably. From what little I can figure (I'm relatively new to Bucks), it seems to be coming from the fit of the lock bar against the bolster. If I apply pressure to the lock towards the right hand scale (with blade pointed down) the sound goes away. There is also no sound when the knife is closed.

Is this something that might go away with cleaning/use? Is there a way to stop this? Is this normal? It's a beautiful knife... I might try to contact DLT and exchange it for another of the same if it won't go away. It reminds me of a friend in high school who bought really nice, expensive, basketball sneakers with air in the soles. He popped one of the soles from use, and every time he took a step, it sounded like a wet fart. He wore those the entire year... something I am not willing to do.

For the record, I currently own (although I just started on the Buck train) two other 110's (aluminum bolster) and two 112's, none of which makes this sound. Also, I've basically taken this knife out of the box, noticed the clicking, and put it back in the box... haven't used it yet.

Personally, if it has no bearing on the function of the knife I wouldn't worry about it. If it turns out to be an issue later on then send it to Buck.

That's... uh... strange?

Does it do it in your left hand as well? Serious question...

No idea! If you open and close the knife and hold it normally does it do it?

If I take a hammer grip it or if I hold the knife firmly it will make the noise. Specifically, it makes the noise when I release my grip. There is no noise when the knife is closed and I grip it.

Yes, if I grip it firmly like I do with my right hand. I rarely use my left hand for cutting, though.

I think one of the scales is not flat and when you press in it bends towards the frame and when you release pressure it click as it goes back into shape. It also might be an area where there is no glue on the scale underneath and the same thing applies as there is a space between the scale and the frame.

The last one I saw was one of the rivets loose.

Just another update. DLT Trading sent me out another one. This one's a keeper. Also, their customer service was terrific!

That is weird. I've never ran across that.
Jordan, If you send that back to my attention, I'll get another one out to you. I would like to see that.
