Is this normal for a Kershaw Blur Tanto BDZ1? Should I return it over bad grinds?

I recently purchased this knife from a dealer, which I have not done (purchase directly from a dealer instead of here on the exchange) in a while. Looked like an awesome knife and I got it for a great price from a great dealer, who I know to have great customer service.

Upon looking over the knife, I noticed that it has some really unusual seeming grind issues.

First, the swedge and main grind are both not at all even:

Second, the upper edge actually has a concave line. It was very difficult to capture this in pictures but I set it flat on the box and there was definitely clearance, enough to see through.:

Now, I'm not really one to send a knife back usually. If I get a knife from a dealer and don't like it I usually sell it for what I paid and lose a couple bucks on shipping, or if I got it on sale try to at least not lose too much. However, with these issues that I'd naturally have to address in selling here I doubt I could get anywhere near what I paid.

I guess I'm asking if you experts think I should send it back to the dealer, to KAI, or just keep it and use it as a beater?

I originally ordered it as a gift, then decided against that, but now I don't know.

Thanks for any comments and help.

Man this is entirely up to to you. I am super picky about things like that so If was my knife it would all ready be in the mail. If you arent happy to the point you wanted to make a thread about it I would say its enough to be bothering you. If you really like the knife then give Kai the chance to fix it. If you are underwhelmed with the knife as a whole and find you dont like it even if it was fixed then return it.

That's pretty bad.
I always wonder how lemons like that get through QC

Same here... You wonder if it was a Friday night and everyone was in a hurry to get out. I'm picky about that sort of thing also Purple, I had a minute issues with one of my SpartanBlades defensa having a weird clip gring, and Curtis and mark too care of me no q's asked, even hand wrote me a letter, and that's why I've also bought two more blades directly from them, they also said they want every knife to be perfect for their owners. But I'd send that tanto back, seeing how tanto grinds seem to be the easiest to gring anyways.

I'm thinking about it and I think it's because the hollow grind goes straight the whole length of the blade, rather than turning with the edge or even transitioning to a flat grind.

I'm going to send it back. I'm a little disappointed that I got a USA made Kershaw with such unusual issues. Especially from a very reputable dealer.

This a why I started asking dealers to check certain things for me before they ship it. Great dealer + great mfg. doesn't always equal great product.
