Is this normal for a Kiridashi?

Hi all, got a Böker Kiridashi, and was wondering about the machining on the little groove. It seems to look pretty smooth on the pictures I've seen of early production specimens, but mine seems to be pretty rough, as you can see in the photos. Also, the holes that are drilled into the groove have a lot of unfinished burrs in them. I know it's just cosmetic and not a huge deal, but considering that others seem to be made better, and this knife is priced higher than you would think for such a small blade, I was wondering if this is the case with all the Kiridashi's.

Aloha Tsujigiri,

It is "cosmetic", but still, I am sure you paid a lot for that knife...as far as "normal" goes, it shouldn't be...

Wish I could help, but this is a job for Marketing. Hope it works out for you!
Mahalo and take care!

It looks like the end mill used to machine the slot may have been chipped or maybe a coolant line was clogged and the steel over heated..That should have never made through QC.
