Is this normal on my Buck 301?

I have a Buck 301 of today that I bought about a month ago. Just wanted to get some opinion from other users. I'm not expecting perfection from a $40 knife but just wondering if this is normal. Looking at the underside of the knife on the sheepsfoot side, I noticed the middle liner is just a hair above the others. Not perfectly flush but just a hair.

Sounds like a slight imperfection to me, if it locks up good and no blade wobble I wouldn't worry about it.

I am guessing you are talking about a middle spring, not a liner. And you are talking about the bottom side of the knife, where the spring is slightly higher that the other two. Sometimes a good cleaning is the first thing you want to do. Some open all blades and use hot soap and water, some use WD -40, some use something like GunBlaster . Clean out the blade well good, dry and lubricate well and work all the blades about a dozen times. That might help. Some who use soap and water like to run a hair dryer on the knife till it gets so hot you can't handle it. Direct the air into the blade well. Buckman is correct though, it won't hurt if you can stand it.....300

I've got a cammie 303 and the spey and sheepsfoot blade were set way way to high the pin is almost at the top of the bolster! Talkin about something bugging the shit out of u!

I use the wd-40 and soap and water with the wife's hair dryer, that 300 mentioned. Usually a wd-40 soak tho. Cleans them and makes em snap every time.

Buckman,
As a old timer suggestion, think about learning to take knife photos and post them on the forum. Folks really enjoy seeing what you are talking about when you post. Like the high blades mentioned in the post above. There are several threads on knife photography on the Buck Forum if you do a search. You will reach out to more people and get more feedback when you include photos. FYI
