Is This Normal?

Hi, I hardly ever venture out from Shoptalk, but recently decided I need a hobby, so, I bought a couple of Case folderS (peanut and medium stockman). The stockman looks good but the peanut has issues. So, as the title says, is this normal, or is there a chance at replacement under warranty?
Thanks much!

Scales have pitting through the finish, and logo shield stamping not clear.

The oval Case shield always looks poorly stamped to me, that’s just how they are. The handle shouldn’t have pits. If you bought it locally try and exchange it. If you purchased online you can likely exchange it but you’ll also get stuck paying shipping one way. So I guess if you bought it to use it, just use it and enjoy the additional character.

My .02, I say it is OK, natural bone has pockets depending on where it is cut, etc. But if you don't like it, swap it out or list it for sale. Buying online is always a bit of an adventure, but is darn convenient!

If the handles are bone, the 'pits' aren't anything abnormal. Bone has sort of a 'grain' to it, like wood. Sometimes the 'grain' will be coarser or look more 'open', as with different varieties of wood. So, there'll sometimes be more visible pores or furrows on the surface.

Can't see the shield/stamping clearly enough in the pics. Don't know if there's an issue there.

All that being said, if you still don't like the looks of it, most dealers should be willing to exchange it for you.

Old shakey (me), has a time with getting good pics. Thanks for the input everyone, it is appreciated.
I’ll hang on to this one, and remember the lessons learned for the next.
Coming from the custom side of things, I guess my expectations were set too high for a production run knife. Time to look for another one, thanks again!
