I bought a Camillus Claw direct from camillus' website.
It came today!
I opened it, and was alarmed to see what came out of the package.
The G-10 scales on the clip side looked great. Crisp, uniform texturing from stem to stern.
On the opposite side where the thumb disc is, the surface on it looks and feels worn, only half-molded, slick, uneven.
I open the blade, and it says CUDA ATS-34 USA.
Admittedly, I don't know much about metallurgy, knifemaking, and so on.
But is an ATS-34 blade supposed to look...well, pocked? dull, used?
The knife locks up solid, and with a little break-in, will probably have a decent action, too.
It was on clearance, but was sold as NIB, not a second or blem or anything like that.
This is my first CUDA.
Is this what I should expect from a Camillus knife, or did I just get one that slipped through the cracks?
