I just received a Buck Prince - 503. Very nice, just the right size for a pocket knife ..... but ... the edge had very heavy grind marks, almost like it missed the last few steps in grinding and polishing.
It took a while on a soft and hard stone to get a nice smooth finish.
It's been over 20 years since I've owned a buck, that was a 110 and if I remember right the edge was smooth and polished.
I was "under"whelmed to say the least. Are all Bucks leaving the factory like this or just the lower priced models.

PS ... It was VERY sharp, it just seemed unfinished.

The edge you mentioned is a byproduct of the Edge2000 now on Buck's knives.Rather than polishing the edge with a polishing wheel ,the edge is ground at the newer angles and may appear a little rough. If you think its sharp now, wait until you sharpen it on a stone!

I thought the exact same thing the first time I saw a Buck knife with Edge2000. Perhaps they should include a little flier or note explaining this to buyers.
