I just received a new Large 21 that was born on Dec. 22 2009 and i made an immediate observation in regard to the pivot and body screws. All of the sebenzas that i have owned/seen in the past always had the allen key slot on the front side of the knife only, while the screw was round and smooth on the lock side. This new 21 has allen key slots on both sides of the knife. Is this a new design change...or is my knife "special" ??? Any help is greatly appreciated.

that is a new screw design that i believe started with the release of the indingno (wharnie type seb).

Do the new screws have a allen on both sides or is one side (female) a thru hole ?

I have been curious why CRK changed to the new style if in fact they are allens on both sides or maybe they got tired of folks flipping the screws :D

Is there a pivot adjustment on Sebbies now? I always was real impressed with the fact that you didn't have to worry about pivot adjustment on Sebenzas. Hope that hasn't changed.

bring back the sebenza regular design!

There are a male and female end and they are the same as the old ones, only there is a hexhead on both sides now. They function just like the old ones. There is no pivot adjustment like the umnumzaan.

So either end unscrews and it is not necessary to uncrew both, correct??

if so, I think that makes sense because frequent taking apart of the knife can bugger up one of the hex hed screws. this way we have two sides .:D:thumbup:

LOL!!! that's what first came to mind!!

Sad news for me as the first thing I do is turn the screws around to have the smooth side on the front.

No more seized male screws in the female and the the hole think turns like that thread we had not to long ago. Using 2 allen keys at the same time is the way to go.

:D:D:D Rickster :D:D:D

I think its a good idea and a different look. Like anything, some will like it, some will not. I got Domino's Pizza tonight, the "New" style pizza. I am still on the ropes if I like the old better OR the new. OR some things of each  So, you will get ya or na depending who you talk too.
