I was lurking in the city searching a usable paint for my new propane forge. I bought Rem.. 3000 W Mortar (Thanks Mitch!) and wool. The forge body will be a cylindrical 3,5 mm thick hot water tank, made from iron sheet (not galvanized). It is the only possible thing i have for the body, but covered with rust. I am sanding the rust away.
The only paint i found resistant to heat is "Dupli-color" spray, is slicon based. It is a German made, MOTIP Dupli GmbH is the producer. On the front label says "Hitzefest 690 C" (Heat-resistant 690 = 1274 F). I thought under the 3" Kaowool it is way beyound enough but what do you think?
Also can i paint my burner and forge nozzle with this?
Forgot to say its' "Silver" color
