Pm2 owners can you unlock your knife holding it in your left hand using your index finger and how comfortable/painful is that? Basically can you unlock it without ever having any fingers in the path of the blade. thanks

I don't own a PM2 but I do own a superleaf (same lock). I am a lefty. I use my thumb to disengage the lock when the knife is in my left hand. I use my index finger to disengage the lock when it is my right hand.

I just tried and couldn't do it. Couldn't get enough force, but that might be because I'm not a lefty. I tried using my thumb and letting the finger coil area fall to my index. That way worked well, but it has a finger in the path of the blade.

Yea, I just tried it and its doable to disengage the lock with my index finger left-handed. Not as graceful as when doing it right-handed, but still not a problem.

I'm a lefty and unlock my PM2 like Odog27 does, letting the blade choil fall on my middle finger. I used my index finger, as you asked, but it was uncomfortable. Right handed was a breeze but not being right handed I don't see employing that method in my future.

I felt that it was much easier to close right handed. However, having the clip set up for left hand carry does help when closing left handed.

Yes, it's easy. In fact the first(I think - could be wrong) compression lock knife, the Gunting, was designed to be unlocked this way and was essentially reversed for right-handed users.

I just pinch the lock bar and scale between my forefinger and thumb, let the blade drop on its own, then rotate the knife until it is closed. One handed, no fingers in play, and it can be done pretty quickly. I love the ability to quickly one-hand open and close when working in the yard or camping.
