Is this possible?

Hi Steve,

I've mentioned this on another forum and everybody pointed me at you, so here goes!

I think this would look pretty cool - if it can be done. Take an H1 Spyderhawk with what looks like an Endura 3 handle, and a Endura 4 with the Emerson Wave and swap the blades (and internal parts)?

I'm thinking specifically of : H1 Spyderhawk and USN Endura.

I like the idea of a toxic green handled Spyderhawk and a black-bladed, yellow-handled Endura Wave.:D

1. Can it be done?
2. What kind of price would you charge to do this?

At this point, I'm just trying to see how feasible this is. Or if it is feasible.

Thanx, Michael

I am familiar with the Endura Wave model. However, I don't know the H1 Spyderhawk model you speak of and have never seen it. Usually it would have have to be two of the same model and even then sometimes it won't work well on one but ok on the other. I'm not a big fan of doing this but when I've swapped blades in Delica 4 models from FRN to G10 ones it worked so long as I swapped the lockbar A/K/A 'rockerarm' with the the blade.

On two different models the pin locations for both the blade and lock bar could be in different spots and the springs could hit on the lock bar in different spots so I have trouble believing one would even mount in the other hardware unless they are the exact same knife model for handles and the only difference is the blade. Again I'm not familiar with the Spyderhawk. Show me.

We'll go from there. Thanks for asking

It's pinned fwiw.

Ok so if I understand this you want to swap out blades and lockbars with basically a Endura 3 handle and Endura 4 handle. I'm thinking not going to happen. My thoughts are vague here but I do vaguely recall being asked about two Endura swaps in the past from 3 to 4 and noted differences in lockbar length as well as notch and pin location so unless I'm thinking of another model I'm inclined to say ixnay. (nyet-nix-no-ain't happenin')

Ah well, it would have been a cool knife. :(

Thanx for responding.

On another note, I'm still getting an example of your work. I have a Blue Rescue coming that you modified to a Wharncliffe blade. It should look real good with the rest of my Rescues. :D
