Is this real??

I thought is looked a little bit fishy, but i dont know my benchmade history and there was a chance i just didn't recognize it.

I thought it might be an older Red Class, however, I dont think so...Definitely not a Griptillian.

That's a 10210 Mini Ambush. It's a real Benchmade Red Class from the mid 2000s, designed by Mel Pardue.

Apologies, I should be more clear. In terms of being a Griptilian it is not. Glocker is correct that it is an Ambush designed by Mel Pardue however, it does not have an AXIS lock, it has the Indraft safety as per it's description on the ebay post.

The knife is real, just not a Grip. The Ambush has cast aluminum scales and the blade is Japanese AUS-8. Nice blade shape this was in production for about three years.

The large Ambush had aluminum handles. The mini Ambush had zytel.

I believe this ambush is the knife on the rolling lock with InDraft diagram in the Benchmade mechanism section. I personally like the rolling lock better than axis. it's very easy & fun to flick it open then unlock to flick it close.

Thanks for the catch. What do I know anyway? OK - I owned a 10200 which seems like a long time ago, and really liked the feel of the knife. This model, the 10300 Monochrome and 10400 Pika really helped to put the affordable Red Class offerings on our radar. Times have changed but I'll bet a bunch of us own these three. I also agree the RLID (Rolling lock with In-Draft) mechanism was pretty cool - and it really locked up.
