is this strider legit?

Nope fake...without looking any more a strider shouldn't have a bos heat treat stamp:thumbup: my recommendation? Buy from a reputable dealer blueLineGear and monkey edge come to mind or just watch the echange they come up all the time, just make sure the seller has a good feedback score:thumbup:

Good luck!

I agree it's fake. Watch a few videos on youtube about real vs fake Striders so you can know what to look for before you buy.

FYI I have more than 1 strider, genuine of course, that have Bos heat treat stamps, newer ones
Won't have the stamp from what I know..

I saw this on a big swedish auction site, seller is also trying to sell a fake Spyderco Gunting.

To elaborate on the Bos heat treat stamp, it is the first thing I use to identify a modern fake, seems the sample the chinese had when copying had the stamp, if I see a stamp it is immediately suspect since it has been quite a while since bos did the heat treating for them...and from what I gather the ones with the stamps are more desireable, these older variants almost always seem to be without the modern fair, they usually have the grayed out or flamed Ti, tiger striped blades...old school vintage, the above knife has a silly blade grind and other indicators also...

yepp spoke to him and he insists that he bought all the knives in a box and that he and his friends found that they all look legit,so he wont consider that these are fake, and are still selling it as the real deal

Run it's a fake! lol

haha look at the detend ball track on that knife. Looks a little off to say the least.

This is why the chinese are not a military threat to us, and never will be. They need us to buy their fake products, which range from knives to purses to medical devices.

Not so fast, the early Striders did indeed have the Paul Bos stamp on them. The steel was not stamped on them, and I'd uess they were all S30V. The pivot bolt is wrong, as is the swedge. If you want to buy a real Strider, it is going to cost you. The knives are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Even a very well used one would go for $300+ in some cases.
