Hi!,
I bought Spyderco Civilian ATS-55 on the Polish website OLX
The seller said he was selling the knife from his uncle who bought it in Germany in 2001. The knife has been sitting in a drawer unused for over 20 years. Now the family is selling his things and they are 100% convinced that the knife is the original. ;)

The package with the knife will arrive tomorrow. Since I'm buying from a private person, I can't return it, but I bought the "protect" option from the portal and I will have 24 hours to make a decision. I must report any problem within 24 hours of receiving the parcel.
Lack of confirmation within the specified time will mean that the transaction has been completed successfully - the money for the sale will be automatically paid to the seller.

I have 6 photos from the ad. When I receive the knife, I will take more detailed photos, but I will only have 24 hours to check it.

I will be eternally grateful if someone could help me verify the authenticity of this knife.

Welcome.

When you say original, do you mean first version or authentic? It is not the first variation of the civilian, but it is authentic.

Unclear to me what generation it is but the knife you got appears to be a later Gen (2 or 3? depending on how you count them) ATS-55 SE Black G10 variation based on the info you can find here:

SpydiWiki - C12 Civilian

According to this source the 1st Civilians to use ATS-55 would had Tufram coated aluminum handles with a Kraton inlay, not black G10 scales, which I think would be a Gen 2 but the "original" Civilian (Gen 1?) used Gin 1/2 steel & had uncoated aluminum handles w/a Kraton inlay.
