Anybody know if Mil-Comm TW-25B is the same thing as the fluorinated grease that CRK sells?

I would hate to buy something I already have...this stuff is white just like the CRK grease and has the same applicator.

I am not sure if it is the same thing or not, but how does it work? It may not be exactly the same as the CRK fluorinated grease, but if it works well then it is probably not worth it to buy the grease from CRK.

My understanding is that the CRK stuff is a special mix developed by Chris over the years.

I've used them both, and prefer the crk variation.

I've noticed over use the tw-25b seems to liquefy faster than the crk stuff.

I use it quite regularly, tried it when I did'nt have anything else laying around.

It is the same P.T.F.E. type lube but will not work the same as ours.CRK lube is specially formulated for us by the manufacturer that is why it is a little more expensive but it works better than any other lube that i have found.Petroleum based lubes do not work well with Ti .To use our lube you only have use very small drops in the right places it will last a long time so is not expensive when looked at from that point of view.

Hi Chris,

I am honored that you take the time to answer queries like mine on these forums.

Thanks for setting the record straight. I have no issue with the price you charge for you grease, in fact I will be ordering some shortly now that I have the facts. I just did not want to purchase something that I might have already had because the syringe of TW-25b I have will be lasting me a long time just like a syringe of yours will last me a loooong time when I get that.

Thanks again for taking the time,

Hello Chris,

Thank you for explanation. Good to know about grease and titanium. And money not a object ( about grease cost), when you are buying knife for $400, just found in my tools cabinet.
Thank you again, for responded, for precipitating in forum and Great Job/Service!!!

I've been using the same tube of Chris Reeve Flourinated grease for over eight years on several knives...I reckon at the rate I am using it, my grandson will finish up my origional one. A little goes a long way. Of course I only take my knives down for a complete cleaning a couple times a year.
