I've been checking on a few different websites for the specs of an Ontario Mark 3 Navy knife and most of them say the steel used is 440A.... I dont know about you I just find that hard to believe especially since Ontario makes really nice fixed blades and knives in general for great prices. Just wondering if you guys can shed some light on how true that is about the steel. Thanks

Just seems like there are other stainless steels out there that they could've used that would still be pretty inexpensive and have good rust resistance

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought most all of the Spec plus line was in 1095? Even so I'd take 1095 or 440C or 440A anyday. Thanks for the info guys
