Is this vertical CNC milling or something else?

I remember someone on the Busse sub forum saying their bevels are likely milled. And after seeing a video on a tour of TOPS knives, I'm wondering what type of CNC process is shown while making the bevel. I think it would be called vertical CNC milling but thought someone here might know for sure. Here is a screen capture of the process:

Also if anyone knows:
Is this becoming more common on production knives? Pros and cons VS Berger flat grinders?

Not sure how I posted this in around the grinder :o
If mods could move it to the appropriate place that would be great.

Interesting that the do it that way instead of using say a Berger grinder.

That looks like a Haas VF2 with rotary trunnion. That's about 70K and is multi functional. A Berger grinder is more expensive and less versatile. If you're a small shop, a VMC is a no-brainer, though that particular VMC is pretty dinky for surface finish in steel (skinny linear ways and under 8,000 pounds)

A single Berger CNC grinder for knife blades will cost about €130,000, a pair will set you back about €250,000. Those are rough numbers from Berger in 2015. Also, those machines will require substantial knowledge to get top quality blades. Under 10,000 blades a year, you are not going to be profitable.
