I was cleaning out the attic in preparation for a move when i came across a Hibben Highlander Bowie that I had gotten years ago. I have since stopped collecting knives (the couple of SOGs i have seems to get all the jobs done) and was wondering if it would be worth my time to sell the Hibben, or just try and give it away. This is the silver bowie with the wire-wrap handle. I have seen others that have an ugly bolt on the pommel, but mine doesn't have that for some reason. The blade has never been sharpened, and except for a nearly invisible nick near the tip, is in good condition. The leather sheath is slightly worn around the clasp, but still looks good. Is there any demand for these whatsoever? Thanks in advance for your input.

I do not know what your knife would be worth. For that you might want to ask on the Bernard Levine forum. Once you know you can post it on the Knives For Sale/Trade Individual forum. You will probably get some interest. Gil Hibben Bowies are pretty good.

While I don't collect United Cutlery Hibbens, many do. I think your knife would be desireable to them because it is out of production. I doubt that Bernard Levine gets involved with United. Maybe the best person to ask for an approximate value would be Mike Turber. I remember he said he collects them and had a collection of them on top of his TV.

It depends on the condition but minty ones have sold on ebay at well above their original purchase price. There are also a few guys that like these on this site.
