Is Tim Zowada an ABS Mastersmith?

Interesting - I thought he was. One of those independant minded individuals I guess. I really like his stuff.

Joss-

Me, too. Obviously, the lack of that credential in no way detracts from the respect shown him by the best bladesmiths in the country. To find a "who's who" list of top bladesmiths lining up to praise his talent and knowledge, all I had to do was run a search here with "Zowada" as the topic. From Jerry Fisk's admiration of the performance characteristics of Zowada damascus, to a host of bladesmith's quoting his techniques on the "Shop Talk" forum here, obviously his reputation sets its own standard.

This was news to me as well - I always thought he was, and of course, not all Master Smiths mark their blades as such.

One of my biggest knife regrets was not buying the damascus bowie knife pictured below (pic from nordicknives.com):

Les Roberston has a gorgeous Zowada push-dagger on his site right now, but those are illegal in my neck of the woods. I'll own a Zowada knife one day, I hope.

Cheers,

Roger

Will-

I'm really glad to see your response to the answer.

While I'm an ABS apprentice-smith, and very proud supporter...I hate it when I hear someone get rolled over ONLY because they are not a member of XXX organization.

I have always admired Tim's work and enjoyed his articles in Knives Illustrated.

Thanks guys,
Nick

Nick, ABS member or not, people will buy your knives. All they have to do is look at them close, and they will see the craftsmanship.

Darn - he's not listed in the Blade listing. I guess he's not coming.
