G- 10 has a higher density than any micarta. It is also heavier. The weight difference in a single knife alone to be carried/ used may not have a great enough effect. But for very specific purpose applications such as a neck knife that will be worn daily day in and day out, along with other equipment on the body, there may be a great difference overall. Yes, a knife made with G- 10 sclaes will be heavier than the same one made with canvas micarta.
I think G-10 is slightly heavier but as said not really that noticeable. I was a fan of G-10 but after having it and using it,
it seems cold and at least on my scales, too hard (as in feeling it during heavy use). It is tough but so is micarta but I feel micarta has a better feel and is warmer to hold, just my 2 cents...
