Is your AR/GB blade off-center?

Mine is when closed. Strider says this is normal. I have a hard time accepting this considering the price-point of these knives. When I pay that kind of money, I want my knife to look good, as well as perform well. :(

Why don’t you send it in for a refund?
Clearly we are having difficulty making you happy.

We have given you a choice of the blades we have in stock. One with a centered blade and dual thumb studs, the other yours, with the off center blade.
You chose the one with the off center blade. Im wondering why that is now that you’re complaining about it.
We have explained why it is your blade is off center.

We have let you know that when we make more, you can have a replacement.

Im not sure what else we can do for you.

Mick

My knife is being returned to you today. Please check your email for details. Steve told me that the dual thumbstud was off-centre as well. I can forward you that email if you like.

I asked to have my original knife returned to me - even though it is off-centre. Now the lock-up is buggered up. You have to push the blade back very hard against the stop pin to allow the lock to move past the blade tang.

I'm not complaining. I have a knife that is now on its third trip back to you, and I haven't even cut a thing with it yet.

I simply want a knife that works, and looks good. Off centre does not look good, and I wouldn't accept (or expect) that on any other knife in this price range.

I will wait as long as it takes to get a PERFECT GB.

You have gone out of your way to help me - I appreciate that. I simply want to play with my new toy.

...and back at ya - and thanks!

Folks, don't let this thread alarm you. Mick is doing what he can to help me in the my quest for the perfect GB. There was some misunderstanding on my part, that has led me to ship this knife back to the factory again.

All is still well in Strider land.

My AR is perfect. Custom knives or semi custom knife making is not just a science: It is an art.

As I live longer I have come to appreciate and even revere the little nicks, marks, scars, and imperfections that make up our world. They add character.

Is this slight off center blade so disturbing to you that you fail to see and enjoy the knife? It would not be for me.

I hope you eventually find what you want in life shane. But let me pass on one small observation from my life so far:

It takes less energy to enjoy than to complain.

Your last statement is very true cat.

However, my blade is touching the liner when closed - and the lock-up is flaky now. It requires significant pressure on the stop pin to allow the blade to open enough for the lock to engage the blade tang.

My AR is a touch off, if I close one eye, click my heels and repeat, "There's no place like home."

I think the real concern is if the blade touches the liner, and even that would be a cosmetic, not a function, issue.

The interesting thing is that my AR blade, my toilet swirl and my reproductive appendage ALL turn to this same direction. If there's a crop circle in my backyard tomorrow...
