Is your blade magnatized, check it out

Take a staple and see if it sticks to your blade. I tryed it on two of mine and both held a staple. At night i leave my knife sitting near my cell phone or tv, i wonder if that can slightly magnatize it? Does anyone know of anyways to demagnatize ? I hear maybe you can boil them? But does this take the temper out? Thanks for any help.
 
yeah, i got one cheapo knife with some sort of CrMo14V-blade or something that is magnetic. try holding it near your monitor and look at all the colors :) , don't do it long/often though, it may ruin your monitor......

i think there's de-magnetizing tools available at well-equipped hardware stores
 
I think after that long thread I started about magnetized blades, the best options are either boiling or taking the knive to an electronics repair place and asking them to use one of their heavy duty degaussers on it.

maybe it's because i use it all the time during work?
 
King of Knives is using a magnetic knife display! So no wonder so many knives are magnetized, someone is making magnetic knife stands and some stores that sell knives are using them.

This calls for some boiling water, it works for delivering a baby or demagnetizing a knife.
