This weekend me and some buddies Canoed/Kayak to this Island on the Chattahouchee River here in GA. We got to the Island and explored it. It was so hot and humid :( We decided to go play in the water. Before we knew it it was raining like cats and dogs, so we had to sit up our shelters in the rain. With the humidity I didn't get dried till I returned home. Lots of ticks but had a great time. Here is me using my Wilkerson Dartmoor to make some dry tinder from the inside of a few sticks. Of course the fat guy with us was adding peanut shells :) Great knife. Its 440c with a blasted finish so it got some rust spots but performed great. With the rain I didn't take to many photos.

Good stuff buddy, I have often looked at those knives and tried to justify another purchase !:D

Great stuff bro. Which part of the Chattahoochee? I used to explore that river a lot between West Point Georgia and phenix City. I used to spend a lot of time on several of the islands down there. Lived on one just south of valley most of one Autumn, I'd love to do that again, I really miss those Islands.

I won this one on another forum. :)

Well...if you ever get tired of it I'd really like to take a look at it.

.

Right below West pt. There's a old airport. Or landing strip. Its about a. 10 min paddle.

I have always been intrigued by little islands like that. Thousands of folks live near them, and drive past them, but never paddle over to investigate.

Looks like a great trip. Lots of folks don't understand the Southern concept of being able to sweat in the rain during the summer. :)

There are several islands down through there. I used to hunt on them or over on the mainland and then set up camp on the island for a night, a weekend, one time for over a month. Between the foxsquirrels, rabbits, deer, turkey, ducks, and fish I never went hungry, and it was always peaceful and quiet at night...never had to worry about somebody out "4 wheeling while intoxicated" running over my camp :D

When I was hunting behind my house (private property) a group of 5 people came buy on fourwheelers and dirtbikes.. really ruined the bowhunting for a few days.

Sounds like you had a hot time out there. Glad to hear it was somewhat fun though.
