Isnt Trolling against the BF rules?

I have no dog in this fight either, but isnt Ren a part of the BF staff? When I try and put him on ignore it wont let me. Am I wrong for thinking that his posts in the link below were very un-called for (as much as many wanted to say it) or have the rules changed and we are now allowed to troll others threads?

For the record, Im glad that forum was shut down, my small mind just cant block out the fact the what Ren did in Jroden5446's thread was wrong. I could be wrong though, wouldnt be a first. If I am, please enlighten me.

with where its at, its primary function (right or wrong) is to bitch about things, as far as ren trolling in the other thread, maybe... but the way RYP dealt with it was way out of line, trolling a thread and pissing on somebodys parade is one thing, thinly veiled threats to a man and his family and posting personal info is an entirely uncool thing to do.
So maybe ren is guilty of trolling but the way they hit back at him is way worse.
everybody needs to let this go...

I agree with this, esp that everyone needs to let this go, however, the only thing that I see that has been let go of, is Rens (a mod) actions which just doesnt make sense to me no matter how RYP retaliated.

dunno, and if he is i'm sure he'll be reprimanded in their own way...
ive seen worse abuse of power so i dont think ren should face the firing squad over this.
the dpx forum being archived sucks for the guys that used it and enjoyed it, not to mention the updates and whatnot for the products they ordered.
shame that their mod chose to go "shock and awe" over this...
remember RYP was a mod too
all this makes me so glad the traditional forums lacks the drama...

Is 'Ren' actually a moderator???

This has been a train wreck of epic proportions....

Ren is a mod for one of the hosted knifemaker forums, at the request of that Knifemaker. He is not a moderator-at-large or representative for the site as a whole. He is expected to conform to the site rules, just like anyone else. What ultimately happens is up to me and the mod staff, but changes in behavior will be made.

Past that, I appreciate your concerns, and we'll be working to resolve the situation appropriately.
 
It would be nice to know if he is a mod. I just find it ironic when Ren was one that was going all ninja google-fu over Helljack6's family. Just because Helljack6 made an inappropriate comment about paypal's TOS in a F/S thread
 
Based on Sparks track record on the overriding incident alone. Returning the forum in question to its unaltered state and archiving it. If he says its being handled I wouldn't bet that this isn't as well. Between January's spammers and this Hest/DPX crap. I think Spark & the Mod's deserve a big THANK YOU and a break.
 
Ren & I have discussed his behavior and he's on the same page now. He's no longer a moderator.

I appreciate everyone's concerns and support.
