Isolating Problems with site

A week or so ago there seemed to be some technical problems. I am still having some difficulties, and isolated where the problem occurs.

The Forums homepage is my bottleneck. Every other interface works well and fast, but getting into or out of this page takes forever.

If this is restricted to me, or old hat, my apologies. Just trying to help.
 
I have not had any problems logging in today.
Each time I close my browser all cookies get cleared.

Have you logged out and cleared your cookies?

There does seem to be something going on with that link/page.

I normally use http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/usercp.php
and have not had a single problem over the last two weeks while others were having trouble getting in.

I just tried the forum.php link.


  1. The first time it froze and crahsed my IE8. I did have several other windows open, so that may have been a factor.
  3. The second time it loaded, but took a couple of minutes.
  5. Just tried it again with no windows open. It loaded, but much slower than normal for BF pages.
  7. One last observation. Attempts 1-3 where done about 11-12PM EST.
    I used the same link at 5:30AM EST and it loaded without significant delay. My only guess about the difference would be that traffic is significantly less at that time of day.

Spark: yes, that is the one. Thanks.

Time of day plays a big part in this. I'm on PST. Last night around 11 PM it worked much better. Just now (@2PM) delay going in and out of Forums homepage was as bad as ever.
