Issue with Bugout lockbar

Hello everyone! I have a Benchmade Butch Ball axis flipper and a Bugout 535. The lockbar on the Ball flipper extends out past the scales and easy to access. The lock bar on the Bugout 535 is a little shorter, it's recessed in a little and I have a hard time trying to access it. Is their a way to modify this or does anyone make a aftermarket lock bar to fix this? Thanks for your help!

Are the scales slightly thicker?

No, they are stock! Looking at some other Benchmade models, this is how the lock bar is. I guess I need longer fingernails

Are the Mini Bugouts set up the same way?

There are aftermarket scales that alter that area. Take a look at the Crossfade scales from Flytanium; they're thinner around the lockbar.
