Hey guys!

Since purchasing my XM I have carried it tip down, but I'd like to change it up and and rock it tip up.

My issue is that the clip insert will NOT budge! :foot::grumpy:
I've removed both screws and the insert appears to be far too comfortable/snug to come out.
I've smacked it against the palm of my hand, while cupped, hoping it would pop out, but no such luck.
I've tried to lightly pry it out using a small screw driver and no such luck.
[I'm afraid of being to aggressive with the prying for I may scratch/chew up the threads and insert]

Any ideas??

I'm at loss as what to do?!

I'd be pretty annoyed if I had to ship my knife out just to have the insert removed..

Thanks for any input!

I had a little trouble with my 24 when I first got it. Ultimately, I inserted one of the screws that fasten it about 1 full thread. Be sure not to insert into the threads on the knife. With a multitool or other pliers (needle nose are easier here, but any will work) grab the screw and lift the plug out.
Only other way I tried was laying a thin towel on my kitchen table and tapping the knife (end with sticky plug) firmly against it. Ultimately, the screw and plyer method worked best.

If going to try to pry thru the holes. Maybe also source a tooth pic or dental pic. Plastic more firm than wood, but both are less likely to scratch your finish if you slip. An arrant paperclip or screw driver under pressure may. Wood toothpics will begin to splinter if too aggressive. I still suggest the screw and lift method.

I feel like a giddy 16yr old girl!!! :D

THANK YOU!!!
The screw method worked!

tip up FTW!!

first thing i did when i got my xm18 was switch the clip.

Same here!!!

ZKTK try hitting it on a book or something a little harder, I had to pry one out before by putting a allen wrench into one of the holes for the screws, just make sure you don't catch the threads. "By prying I mean just a tiny little bit". After that i took some 1500 grit to the edges once it was out, never had the problem again.

I just changed a Gen4 Slicer this morning with no problems at all.
