Issues reassembling Sebenza 21

So I've taken my sebenza apart a few times, just wanted to see how easy it actually was to reassemble and I've heard so much about the tolerances. I'm not disappointed at all, it's pretty astounding how well everything goes together.

Only problem is that I just took it apart to grease the bushing and washers, and after putting it back together the blade is just barely touching the backspacer when closed. I only realized because I noticed a slightly more metallic sound when closing now, which appears to be the blade barely contacting the backspacer . It's odd, hasn't happened to me before, everything is smooth as butter and the blade is centered. The backspacer appears to be perfectly in line with the lanyard hole too (no lanyard in) so if I moved the spacer it would start to show unevenly through the lanyard hole. Any ideas?

Hmmm. Did you mix up the stop pin and the spacer near the lanyard? Are they different sizes?

You may have not used the sleave on the stop pin when puting it back together ? That is about the ony way you will get the blade to close deeper into the handle, as you seem to be experiencing here.

I don't think so, the spacer is blue and the stop pin in silver, plus they are different sizes. Can't hurt to double check though.

I checked that too, had the same thought, but the sleeve is in the right place. I think I might take it all apart and just reassemble from scratch.

I finally disassembled, cleaned, lubed, and reassembled my 21 for the first time. I did a quick google search beforehand and ended up at this nifty CRK webpage (http://www.chrisreeve.com/sebenzaclean.htm) which I found pretty helpful to prepare.

Regarding your specific issue, I'm afraid I can't give any advice without repeating anything someone has already said.

Good luck!

I disassembled my 21 once or twice. Then, heretic that I am, I used blue Loctite on all the screws and lube it with BreakFree when needed. No problemo.
