Hi guys & gals!

Well, some time ago I wrote in "Böker"-subforum that the "Tree Brand Knives" are not available in Germany. I almost contacted Böker a couple of times to send me some of their Tree Brand Knives. But I always got the answer, that these knives were readily packed and just for oversea shipment. I got the answer, that I could order them from the US. That was quiete strange - a german made knife not being sold in Germany directly from the manufacturer. I was some kind of angry in any case. I could also buy of their Tree Brand Knives directly from their shop in Solingen. That´s nice - but still a 700 kilometres journey from my hometown to Solingen.

So I wrote this in the Böker subforum for letting their Tree Brand knives being sold in Germany. A forum member C_Becker offered me to get some of their knives it I´m interessted. I´d go to Solingen in some days and asked me if he could get me some of them. I told him what I´m interessted in - Congress Pattern is a little underrated in my point of view with all the traditional knives...

Yesterday a package from C_Becker arrived and contained this...

Different tang stamps... :)

Each of them fully opened

Different blade etchings

The obligatory In Hand Pic

Some fun shots and impressions ... propably more to come :)

I really like these two knives. The F&F on each is just great no gaps, blade wobbling or whatever. The wood on the one is really great looking as well as the stag on the other one. Really a classy pattern!!

Thank you very much, C_Becker for this great deal. I really like these two beautiful knives!

Glad that, thanks to C_Becker, you were finally able to get your hands on more Boker knives Andi. Their inavailability throughout Germany is a ridiculous situation. Those are two great-looking knives, thanks for sharing them with us, and thanks to C_Becker for helping to make it happen

This is just plain coincidence... I just ordered a Boker Tree Brand Congress because I thought they looked so nice at a very decent price. And now I see this! Really nice knives Andy, and quite the strange situation. Honestly, I bought mine in the US as well. Even with shipping it was cheaper than in the online German knifeshops I had found.
I had a Case Peanut, Mercator, Case Sodbuster and since yesterday that Aitor Castor like Jack has on my shortlist... but I came across that congress online and just had to had it. The others are being moved further down the list for now. Seeing your pics I'm even more psyched to get it! Very cool!

Hey Andi,
glad you enjoy those knives and glad I could help out a fellow knife nut ! Some nice pictures you made there, too.
I'm not much of a traditional guy, but those are certainly very nice. I don't understand Böker either, it wouldn't be much effort for them to sell those in Germany.
Maybe the market just isn't big enough, I dunno. I don't think they sell them regularly in their shop, those were off the bargain table so to speak.

Again, glad I could help you out and I hope you enjoy them a lot !

Cheers
Chris

Andi, two Beauty's their my friend - just wow!, I love the Stag - well done and thank you for sharing with us.

Congrats Andi, those look great, I really like Boker very much, I feel they are of great value. In my opinion regarding their traditional line, they really excel with the congress pattern, not that there is anything wrong with any of their other patterns, but the congress knives they make really stand out, probably why they have been contracted to make them for so many other brands. Andi I remember you having a RR congress, so I know you have used the pattern before, I'll be curious how you like working with it on your lot, for me personally, I really like working with it, very useful, I tend to use the sheepfoot, most, but pen blade for scraping, and coping for fine detail cuts, I know the heat treats are great on all my Bokers, even after scraping oxidation off of a dozen metal spring pegs for screens with the pen blade it remained very sharp. The stag is beautiful on that one Andi & so is the wood, congrats and use in good health.

My Boker congress knives, the wood one a J.A Henckels made by Boker, 1/2 congress in a Boker USA, the stag tang reads.

Thanks for the replies, fellows :)

I really like these two knives. The F&F is really great.

@Mike: The closed length on the knives is 9 cm.

@Chris: The knives are just great. Great, just great! :)

Andi, I'm so please you have been able to track down this home brand, with the help of another great fellow from our fine forums

I think you have received two very fine examples by the looks of if. The scales on both of these are rich and look as fine as example as you could expect of these materials.

It will be good to see these pop up in your rotation every once in a while. Carry them with pride.

I think both of them are quite gorgeous and your photography certainly enhances that beauty! The blade selection of the wooden one is quite nice. something about the shield and the bolsters on the stag model that gets my fancy.

It certainly is crazy they are less expensive from the US but not surprising. Kudos to Chris for helping you out!!!
