It’s that time again… CASE Pass Around XXIII

Here we go folks,

New year, new Case pass around! Last time this pass around happened, I won by default as the only entry. Hopefully there’s plenty of interest now that the crazy holiday season is behind us.

This pass-around was a lot of fun for me but I had to do some horse trading. I have 3 little boys and they all felt strongly about certain knives. So half the battle was figuring out what everyone wanted and finding reasonable replacements. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone so enthusiastic about pocketknives.

Ahem… on to the rules:

I will randomly draw a winner and send the box to them.
They will choose two, three, or however many knives.
They will replace the knives with some of their own (Case Knives Only).
They will hold their own drawing and pass the box on to the next person.

Porch Members Only!
Must have over 50 posts in the Traditional Knife Forum.
Must be a paying member of Bladeforums.
These rules must follow the box every time or John will call foul.

Here’s the contents of the box as I received it. A full knife folder, plus three.


And here are the three that I’m keeping. You may notice that the big folding hunter is pictured by itself. Because it’s really cool. But moreover, I kind of don’t have a choice in the matter, because my two year old became so enamored of it that he literally wouldn’t go to sleep without it, carried it everywhere, and has now hidden it somewhere extremely safe, so I can’t find it to take a group shot. Not gonna lie though, it was pretty funny when he was bargaining over whether to eat his breakfast, based on whether we’d let him have his knife next to him.

I also decided to keep the Case backpocket, because it’s an interesting design and my six year old found he could easily open it and has visions of helping his dad with a deer next year... And the burlap micarta 1095 little coke bottle, because it seems to work really well for opening Christmas cards and my wife thought it was cute.

And here’s what I’m adding:

A 63032 gunstock with really pretty Calico jigged bone. This is probably the prettiest Case I own. I have the box around here somewhere if I can lay hands on it. I don’t think this one’s ever been carried.

A 6318H red bone stockman from the 1940-64 era. This one has definitely been used and carried but it’s got lovely snap and lots of life in the blades.

A 6220ss in jigged brown Delrin. This one has never been carried, it’s been sitting in my drawer since I purchased it new circa 2015.

Woo! Thanks, Im glad to see this start up again. Im in. Hopefully there will be some more interest now.
 
I'm in. I remember the default win last time, and thought it was pretty funny. Not as funny as the image of a toddler negotiating over a folding hunter and a bowl of cereal though.
