I’m going to start dividing most of my Buck, Case, and Victorinox collection up and pass them down to my four grandchildren. Any of my guns that haven’t been shot recently or carried will be passed on to my three daughters.

The knives I have from my grandfathers are among my most prized possessions. I’m sure they will be ecstatic.

But, um, is everything ok?

I’ll be curious to hear which ones you decide to keep. And assuming everything is ok, I think it’s great that you’re handling them down yourself rather then leaving them to your loved ones after you’re gone.

If your family understands and appreciates the gesture it is truly a wonderful experience for everyone. I have a pistol and knife that belonged to my best friend. Both are treasures to me.

John, did you have a single or double action Revolver like a Vaquero or Blackhawk?

My dad didn't do that at all, kind of wish he had. But luckily there was no fighting over anything. And I got most of the JKs.

I have let the kids look through a bunch of my knives, but other than those I have already given away, I'll hold onto them until I pass - at least at this point. My granddaughter's have picked out some they want, and I intend to ask my son to divvy the knives up to those that want them before selling.

I have a spreadsheet listing the purchase price, details and the last estimated value of each knife so he will have some help when the time comes.

John - I finally sent my 112 Shedua in for a Buck "spa treatment" - I'll post some pictures when it's back.

best
