After seeing the various examples of leather work and sheath making, I had to make a serious shot at my own sheath. Any and all comments will be accepted.

nice! looks better than alot ive seen from guys who call themselves sheathmakers! yeh stain it, tool it, add some extras, go wild! youve got a great foundation
 
Give yourself more credit. I would gladly strap that to my hip. It might also be interesting NOT to stain it. Let life and time of use add character to the sheath. Every new bit of color might store a memory. A timeline sheath, if you will.

I did think of leaving it unstained, but the reason for using black linen thread was to give the stitching an accent. It fits snugly and stays in the sheath without any additional snaps or straps. Even while inverted.

My plans are to stain it, beeswax it and put a pouch for a Firesteel Magslab on the cross strap.
