Good for you! That's a nice looking pair of grinders you have. Pretty soon, you'll find yourself building another just so you don't have to swap out the platen for small wheels (I did :D).

Jerks with your fancy-shmancy grinders... ;)

Don't mind me, I'm just jealous! That's sweet that you got a new one, appreciate it, and know how you got there; one of these days I'll convince my wife to let me get a real grinder!

LOL, you don't need to convince her.......just do it like I did.:D I got a call from the wife while at work one day and she asks, "Um, honey...why is UPS dropping off four large boxes on our porch that are too heavy for me to pick up and bring in the house????"

By that time it was too late, the grinder was already there:thumbup:;)

my wife doesnt know either, i left it in peices for a week now scattered around the shop,so it wouldnt be noticable, and burned the damn boxes lmao:rolleyes:

It's the dent in the checking account she'd notice most! I'm a med student so right now it's not all that feasable to get one but once I'm done I hope to get one. Never had the chance to use anything but my 1x42 Delta so I really don't even know what I'm missing out on, probably for the best!

yeah, your missing out! all you need is one like is in the pic, the grizzly model, i used it for ever, thats how i bought everything you see

While it goes without saying that I have a bad case of grinder envy, I'm going to refrain from making that purchase until I decide I really want to be a knifemaker, as opposed to a hobbyist. If I ever get serious about wanting to make knives for other people, I'll need the specialized tools. For now, I need the tranquility associated with no debt more than I need a tool I don't have room for in my garage.

Which doesn't change the fact that I have a bad case of grinder envy.

(sigh)

well here latley i have done nothing but poured money into my shops, i was just tired of sending stuff out,for h/t ect and waiting on everyone else so i ot the h/t oven.then the forge ,and now the grinder, having one grinder is good, but two makes it alot eaiser, and im sure 3 would be the real deal, but i stop here

Heh... my lady thinks I'm nuts for getting a second drill press, much less a second or third grinder. "But but but," says I, "it will save me oodles of time not having to change bits so often!"
