R.U.S.K. Max has returned, none the worse except for some wear on the finish, and a little rust from being used in saltwater. I`m going to clean it up on my 3M belt, which will make it lose a lot of the black finish, then sell it for a discounted price.

Hell why clean it up? It looks great!

I never pictured it being used in salt water.

I was kind of hoping for a review, and some action photos.

Here it is, cleaned up and for sale! Still shows lots of forge marks. Asking special price of $135.00 (was $165.00)

I read the story. Some pics of the MAX, but no real mention. He does bring up a hudson bay knife; I wonder if he got confused a little?

I'm teetering. A nice review would help.

Dave

I came reallllly close to picking this one up, when it was first built.
My standard size R.U.S.K. is the nicest knife I have ever had made especially for me.

The main thing that stopped me was that I was mulling over ordering it with a clip, to match my original.

What drew me to this MAX was the outstanding workmanship that is evident from the pictures, especially John's treatment of the handle.

If you do choose to get it, I don't think you'd regret it. I literally spent weeks working on the original handle and blade design, to get it perfect.
What John did was max out my original design in every direction.

He also added a bit of period flavor to it, which is another reason I like his interpritation of the design so much. The ultimate Mountain Man survival knife.

It sort of resembles my Becker Brute. The Becker Brute that is still pristine because I can't bear to chop or even cut anything with it.

(scratches chin and wonders aloud........"I could buy this and then sell my Brute to somebody on ebay for 3 or 4 times what I paid for it. Hmmmm")

Gosh, If I didn't have a JK Hudson Bay to fulful all of my chopping needs, I would be on this like stink on a monkey. What a beautiful knife.

Whoever gets it at that price is getting a steal.

All the best,

- Mike
