Well I'm happy to say that my BK11 showed up today. I'm very pleased with it. I love the look and feel of it and it arrived hair popping sharp. Can't wait to really try it out. Another reason I'm excited is that I'm still fairly new to knife collecting and this is my first US made blade.
Any one have any advice on how to really tightly lash it to a belt? So far I have found that putting it horizontally with a belt loop in the middle works pretty well but it still slides.

I got it at the same time as the knife but I need to get a torx wrench set before I can use it. Is there any way to attach the sheath to the clip horizontally. It looks like a vertical set up will poke me in the side.

Hey Locust......

Give the neck thing a shot........ It really is much more convenient than a belt carry once you get used to it......I am happy to hear that you are pleased with it and I hope you will let us know how well it works for you when you get a chance to take it for a stroll in the woods....

I agree with (Ethan) wear around the neck (look Ethan I spelled your name right)
even sweating in the summer never caused a problem always eazy to get to.if you have
to have your shirt tucked in all the time.I could see wearing on belt.it is most comfortable around neck.and if around the neck you have belt space for another knife.

I tried putting it on a shot bead necklace earlier tonight and it was surprisingly comfortable and secure. The thing is that I have always had a "thing" about stuff dangling from my neck. I have only had one necklace ever and almost never wear it. Also I do tuck my shirt in all the time and if I wear it outside of the shirt I predict it getting caught on stuff.

Believe me I am chomping at the bit to take it for a stroll. Unfortunately a new semester is about to start which will keep me away from woods (well knife friendly ones anyway) for a while.

Ethan. I was just sitting around and thinking of the weather decided to see how the knife felt if I was wearing heavy winter gloves. Wow. It was surprisingly easy to handle. Never thought I would get such a good grip on that handle in clumsy gloves. Bravo.

I dont think the clip will fit the camillus version. I think KA BAR made this one special for the clip.

I wear knives that size on a neck cord routinely, even sometimes knives heavier than the BK-11. But here's three other possiblities.

First, IWB: Inside the WaistBand. Rig a loop to a hole at the top of the sheath and put your belt through that loop, with the sheath tucked into your waistband. When you draw the knife, the loop will hold the sheath in place.

Second: static cord. Tie a cord from the bottom of the sheath and attach it to a belt loop. Now tuck the sheath into your pocket. When you draw th knife, the sheath will come out with it, but will top at the end of the cord. (This is a bit more obvious to people nearby :) )

Third: horizontal on the belt. See the four holes at the corners of the sheath? Take two pieces of paracord and make a loop from one side to the other of the top holes, and do the same with the other piece of cord for the bottom holes. All around the sheath. Now slip your belt through those loops.

Thanks Esav. I'll give those a try. I already tried one horizontal method with the 4 corners and paracord but yours sounds like it might be a little tighter.

Hey Esav....

I am gonna try your static cord trick.....Cool Idea !!!!!....Thanks....

Does anyone know how the necker feels on a CRKT Mercharness? Would it be appropriate for woodland romps?

You will hardly feel the weight at all on a mercharness and it should be out of the way enough not to snag on passing branches. I ahve a lightweight titanium knife about that size on one.
