over the years I've never much thought about adding a Scuba Demo to my SOG collection. But I found one a few days ago and decided "why not." Just received it today. It is about as good as new. Much "heftier" than I thought it would be. I don't know when it was last sharpened but there is no problem de-foresting my forearm.

Great score! I got to hold one of the limited edition ones made from Damascus steel back in 2004 or 2005. It was sweet! Ever since then, I've lusted after them. You're lucky, congrats!

Will it see some steak/roast carving duties in the near future? Or is this a safe queen?

-Looks like you could use some better lighting for your pictures. Storm just passed, it's clear here, so why don't you send it my way for some pics? he he he. ;)

Carl, that thing is a beauty ! Don't forget to wrap it is a sock and store it OUT of the sheath.........:p

This will preserve the finish on the brass..........

very classic.
nice score!
hope you didn't have to dive way deep into the pockets to fish this one out.

Such a beautiful knife. Ironic its called the Scuba/Demo as it would be the worst diving knife ever (leather handle, carbon steel blade, brass guard), but it makes an amazing woods blade.

That's why I talked myself out of the Scuba/Demo, and went with the newer Demo. Looks like all the shortcomings of the original were corrected, with the exception of the sheath. Love the leather sheath tho, and will have a kydex made for wet weather apps. Great knife!
