Well, as bighoss said "you can't not have a BK9", so after only about 2 weeks since getting my BK7, I had to do it. My BK9, purchased from Dexwithers, arrived today. As soon as I remember how to post pics I will. I really like my 7, but the 9 is awesome. I can't wait to go out & chop something in half with it. Plus get better gas mileage, have control over animals, get the location of the secret doughnut shop, etc.

For those of you looking to buy, I can't recommend Dex enough. Great service, fast shipping, even threw in some extra stainless hardware which the 7 & 9 are both now wearing. If you're going to spend your money, and face it, you are, do business with good people & Dex is a good dude.

I think my blade lust is temporarily satisfied. Next up is a couple strip jobs & new scales. On that note G10 or micarta?

No, no, NO! While your car will get better mileage (0.0000035001%, which is just enough to offset the weight of the BK9) I didn't not say you would be able to control animals or get the location of the doughnut shop. I said animals would be more open to your suggestions and that if you could find the mysterious doughnut shop yourself, they will give you a discount on an apple fritter.


As far as scales go, for a large chopping blade less friction is the way to go to avoid blisters. To that end the factory scales are great.
 
Congrats man! It's in your veins now! I've been checking his site daily but the machax is still out of stock. Guess I should msg him. I'm in no hurry and would just order and wait, or pay up front or deposit whatever. Get out there and get it in something! If the weather up there is like here, great day for it!

Congrats man! The BK-9 is one hell of a knife, perfect for camping, I always bring
it and my old Estwing hatchet when I'm off in the woods overnight. That thing
takes chunks out, have fun.
 
Not to detract from the 9, but how good is the seven! congrats on the new steel man..

Yes! The Estwing camp hatchet, solid, full tang with stacked leather handle? $30 anywhere! Made in USA, that things a steal, I love mine. Razor sharp, and comes with a leather sheath. It's a no brainer, get it then give it to your grand kids. Sorry for being off topic there but Mantodea pulled at my heart strings...
 
Now you can dual wield and hack a tree down from both sides haha. Cool PICS!
 
7 or 9, you can't go wrong. Actually, you can't go wrong with any of the Beckers - especially the full sized ones.
