Got my e-mail today from Pay Pal, followed very closely by the one from Rob saying "it has shipped"!!! To say I'm pretty excited would be an understatement. "It" is a XM-18 3.5 flipper, Spanto Grind w/ dark earth scales. My career field allows me to order directly from the factory. This will be a full tilt boogie duty knife. No safe queen here!! I am kind of silly with anticipation. I have waited, watched, lurked for about 6 months. It seems like only a few knives and companies garner as much hype and respect/love as Hinderer. I will post pics as soon as I can. Should be about a Thursday arrival.

That's awesome....I hope you enjoy it and use it in good health. Post plenty of pics!:D

The wait is KILLING ME!!!!! I have been tracking my new precious, and she is here, in town. Set to be delivered tomorrow!! Crap, I don't like to wish away the weekend, but tomorrow can't get here fast enough!! Knowing she's sitting in town waiting for me........

I will post pics. I know, I know just another pic of a XM-18, but this one is mine. I hope she's all they are cracked up to be. I bought this knife sight unseen, I've never even seen a Hinderer. I bought it because o BF and the "Holy Grailness" that these knives seem to have. We'll see.

Waiting is the hardest part but over the years I've come to incorporate the wait into my enjoyment. The anticipation is a rush in itself!!!

Vegas- I feel your pain. According to USPS tracking, my first is going to arrive today. The problem and irony is I'm at the airport, on my way to Ohio, which is home to these fine folks of Hinderer Knives. I sure hope my bride signs for it and it is there on my return. I know you've gotta be excited too.

Please, let's see some pics tonight!

You guys are wasting wishes.:p

A cute story about exotics...tried to buy a high-end sports car when I was 20...car was expensive, but I could "swing it"...what I could not afford was the insurance.

I heard the routine oil change on the older Ferraris was $10,000, because they had to remove the engine. Don't
know about the newer ones, but I'm thinking it's not cheap.

You're not supposed to drive a Ferrari long enough to require an oil change....

I was 20 not too long ago. Ferraris do require engine-out from time to time but not a common maintenance concern.

I bet a Web search can easily turn up required maintenance schedules.

Buying one is often only the first hurdle, affording to keep it was and still is what keeps me out of my dream cars.

Btw--$10K covered only 6 mo. of "full coverage" on a used sports car when I inquired and that was with a mileage cap and as a "pleasure vehicle".

I missed the chance to get a spanto but ill be getting a slicer soon :) congrats btw bro!! Ill be the same silly with excitement!!
